Whether you are doing this sport for fun or at a competitive level there are programs that must be followed in order to reach an optimal result. My experience has shown me how the body reacts to the stress of endurance training and how it responds to a variety of training methods. A well thought-out training program will help you avoid injuries and over-training while allowing you to balance life’s other responsibilities.

Capoeira is a blend of martial art, game and dance originated in Brazil back in the 16th century. It is an amazing sport, stressing coordination and agility with powerful movements requiring flexibility and strength.  Sometimes a well-played 30 second game feels like a full sprint on a track. Not only is it a great way to have fun while exercising, it can also be practiced just about anywhere.

A common misconception is that one must lift as much weight as possible to see results.  But very heavy is not always better.  You can make use of shorter or longer intervals, more sets, different exercises, faster and slower reps etc. My experience in weight training has also shown me that it is possible to work around injuries and/or improve them.  And of course while lifting weights proper technique is a must.
